When the Safe Haven Baby Box project emerged as a critical opportunity to protect the most vulnerable, he didn’t wait for someone else to take the lead. He coordinated across city departments, partnered with non-profit organizations, and engaged directly with citizens to ensure the program was implemented responsibly, efficiently, and with the full support of the community.

His approach was organized, transparent, and deeply human. I am proud to endorse Cliff Thompson for Mayor of Centerton. Having known Cliff for most of his life, I first met him in 1982 when his father was my EMT instructor. Even then, it was clear that Cliff was someone special.

I have had the pleasure of watching him grow into adulthood and start his own family. During his early career in public service, I served as his station officer. As we both progressed in our careers, Cliff consistently demonstrated a strong sense of community and the intelligence to apply his knowledge effectively.

Cliff is honest, fair, and compassionate in everything he does. I have no doubt that he possesses the leadership necessary to guide Centerton through this period of rapid growth while always keeping the best interests of our citizens at heart.

I am writing this letter to express my endorsement of Cliff Thompson for the Mayor of Centerton Arkansas. I had the opportunity to work with Cliff for approximately 18 years at the Rogers Fire Department and we continue to stay in contact since his retirement. I appreciated his leadership style and mentorship during our time working together at the Rogers Fire Department. Chief Thompson is a hardworking, organized, dedicated, and goal oriented individual that excels at whatever he puts his mind to. 

Cliff Tompson (Chief Thompson) possesses strong leadership and communication skills that served him well at the fire department. Chief Thompson’s strong leadership qualities enabled him to build and maintain a great team environment at multiple levels while working for the Rogers Fire Department. I was fortunate to be a member of Chief Thompson’s teams on several occasions at both the Company and Division levels. Chief Thompson also served as a good mentor for many at the Fire Department and found ways to bring out the best in those around him. I feel that Chief Thompson has sound judgement and I continue to seek his advice on a variety of topics. Furthermore, as a Chief Officer, Cliff managed to strike a good balance between his commitment to the administration and his peers.

 I believe that Cliff Thompson is an excellent choice for the Centerton Mayoral position. There is no doubt in my mind that Cliff excel at the position of mayor just like he did at the Fire Department. I am excited to watch the City of Centerton continue to grow and thrive under his leadership.

During the time he served as my supervisor at the Fire Department, Cliff consistently demonstrated integrity, fairness, and an unwavering commitment to his team. He led as a true servant leader, always placed the needs of his personnel and the community above his own. Chief Thompson believed in progress, not complacency, and he inspired that mindset in everyone around him. Chief Thompson’s leadership had a lasting impact on my career and countless others. Through his mentorship, I was encouraged to pursue professional development opportunities that helped advance my career, a reflection of his genuine investment in the growth and success of those he led.

As Chief Thompson now seeks to continue his service to the community as mayor, his dedication to bettering the community remains strong. Having worked closely with Cliff since 2018 in my capacity as the Head Coach and CEO of Northwest Arkansas Aquatics (NWAA}, I have witnessed firsthand the leadership, fiscal discipline, and commitment to excellence he brings to our community.

I first met Cliff when I began coaching his daughter, Chloe. Under our program's guidance and with Cliff's unwavering support, Chloe developed into a State and Regional Champion and an All-State swimmer for Bentonville West High School. Her dedication led her to the University of Utah, where she recently graduated after competing as a valued member of their Division I Swimming and Diving program. Throughout that journey, Cliff demonstrated a deep understanding of what it takes to foster high-level achievement and maintain a focus on long-term goals.

Cliff's dedication to the community extended further when he joined the NWAA Board of Directors, serving a two-year term as Vice President. In this role, Cliff was responsible for conflict management during a pivotal period of growth for our organization. He approached every challenge with a balanced perspective and a steady hand, ensuring our program remained on a positive trajectory. His leadership was instrumental in allowing us to navigate complex situations while keeping the best interests of our families and athletes at the forefront.

Perhaps most importantly for the citizens of Centerton, Cliff proved to be an exceptional steward of our organization's resources. During his tenure on the board, NWAA not only grew in size but also made significant strides in strengthening our financial reserves. Cliff is a leader who understands how to use resources wisely and prioritize long-term fiscal stability.
